It can sometimes seem daunting, so this is a great question!
We start with a thorough holistic assessment, where we look at home you are moving, your breathing and core strategies, and your overall strength and mobility. We may perform an internal assessment, which will give us more information about your specific pelvic floor muscle function. You can choose not to have an internal exam or treatment as well - there is plenty we can address without that! Follow up sessions focus on meeting your unique needs, from muscle retraining to hands on therapies to strengthening or relaxation exercises. Pelvic floor therapy should take a full body approach in order to not only resolve your symptoms, but to allow you to thrive in any activities you want to do!
At this time, we only perform pelvic floor therapy with women/persons with vulvas.

No! I bring a mobile treatment table if needed, as well as some basic equipment. We can use the equipment (bands, weights, machines, etc) that you have, or we can adapt to using no equipment if that’s what you prefer.

Physical therapy can help with many injuries and chronic conditions, as well as wellness and prevention. If you are unsure if PT is right for you, fill out the inquiry form or give us a call!
-
Absolutely! Although my focus is on women and moms who often don’t get the care they deserve in our healthcare system, I am happy to work with clients of any gender and with a variety of diagnoses. I have 10+ years experience and spent most of that time in general orthopedic clinics and practices, where I learned to treat a wide range of conditions.
Please note, at this time, we only perform pelvic floor therapy with women/persons with vulvas.

The Thompson Method challenges the forceful techniques that are linked with painful nipple trauma, that are commonly taught in most hospitals.
It’s for ALL women who want to breastfeed but particularly those giving birth in the hospital system because it offers a gentle alternative to help women AVOID the most common and painful breastfeeding complications
But it’s more than just the technique on how to get a good latch. It is that, but it’s also a belief in educating women about how breastmilk is produced, how baby’s oral cavity works to feed, and how each woman and her baby is unique. It’s about knowing your instincts will always be right.

With all the conflicting information women are given about breastfeeding, it can often feel overwhelming. The Thompson Method focuses on empowering mothers to trust their maternal instincts. It is a gentle approach, with no forceful techniques, with a focus on educating mothers so that they can make the best decisions for themselves and their babies.
